IN FURY LIES MISCHIEF | Amo Jones

In Fury Lies Mischief is the second book in the Midnight Mayhem series, stating with In Pea Lies Havoc. I completely loved the first book and I knew that Amo Jones wouldn't disappoint with the second one and I also couldn't wait to read it and was lucky enough to receive an ARC and read it before its official release (which is today, March 10). I must say, I was a little sorry that this wouldn't be a continuation of Dove ( a.k.a. Persephone) and King because I loved their story so much. But in the end... Not gonna lie, I loved Saskia and Killian's story as well.

Their story was different but IFLM still has this dark vibe we know and love from Amo Jones. I love the way she continues to build the amazing Midnight Mayhem world that started with In Peace Lies Havoc. In all Amo Jone's fashion, there were some (many :DD) twists and turns that made my mind spin. The book discovered a new layer of darkness and love, it was really admirable how she kind of expanded/added some things to the world.

I think In Fury Lies Mischief was more focused on the side characters (don't worry, Kill and Saskia still got plenty of room) and the dynamics between them - that also changed/ evolved throughout the book. I got to know them more and that led to changing my opinions on some characters.

Not only I got to know more of the side characters but thanks to this book being focused on Killian and Saskia I got to know more of them as well. Kill is, as you probably know, the Trickster, he has faces on top of faces. I absolutely loved that Kill wasn't the only dark hero of this story. In fact, you could say it has two villains... Sass (Saskia, gosh, I love her name, it's so original... I love how Amo names her characters, how does she come up with them?) can be pretty dark herself. She is strong and confident, she is also pretty private person, doesn't let many people in, keep high wall around herself. She might be private but she is still sassy and kind of has some skeletons in her closet she doesn't know about herself.

Overall, In Fury Lies Mischief has a very deep background/backstory. And of course, this is revealed nearly at the end with a plot twist (we all know Amo, don't we). It was a liiitle similar to IPLH's plot twist but differently built. I love how The Elite King's Club and Midnight Mayhem's worlds cross over from time to time, I admire when authors connect their two stories and show they are not so different. Recapitulation: IN FURY LIES MISCHIEF (AND THE WHOLE MIDNIGHT MAYHEM SERIES) IS A FIVE-STAR READ AND YOU NEED TO READ IT.
